The village spirit in the heart of the Puces
With its 9,000m² and more than 300 stands, Vernaison is and will remain the reference market, the witness and the original imprint of the birth of a success. The Paris Saint-Ouen Flea Market was born here.
Historic cradle of the Puces Antique Market, the first organized market was born in 1920.
At that time, Romain Vernaison, parking concession holder at the Halles de Paris, then rental of chairs for the Parisian public gardens, and owner of a plot in Saint-Ouen, installed prefabricated wooden huts on this area called "the 26 acres".
The village spirit of this market attracted antique dealers, dealers and in particular style furniture merchants. The success was immediate.
Gradually and until the end of the Second World War, these installations were replaced by more suitable stands.
